To upload a new 360 video to the portal, perform the following steps:
- Go to the portal by clicking here.
- Click on 'UPLOAD VIDEO'. The video upload page is displayed.
- Select the relevant tab that represents the required upload type according to the following options:
- VIDEO UPLOAD - Select this option to upload your 360 video file manually.
- EXTERNAL CONTENT - Select this option to upload a 360 video that is stored on external CDN.
- Go to the 'COMPANY' field and enter the name of the company that will be defined as the owner of this video. Relevant results will be displayed in a drop-down list from which you can choose from.
Note: If you do not have access to any additional Affiliate Companies, this field will be set to your user's owning Company by default.
Note: If the 'Set Company' field in your company context menu is active, this field will be automatically set to your selected company context. For further details, please see Company Context Menu. - Go to the 'VIDEO TYPE' field and select '360'. This will set the video type attribute to '360' allowing all players to render the video for a 360 experience.
- Go to the 'ENCODING PROFILE' field and enter the name of an encoding profile that will be used to create appropriate video renditions for these videos. Relevant results will be displayed in a drop-down list from which you can choose from.
Note: This field is usually set to 'AOL Videos Renditions' according to your default Company settings. If you do not have any default Encoding profile set in your company, this field will be blank and require you to select an appropriate Encoding profile.
Note: If you do not have any previously created encoding profiles, please refer to How to create an encoding profile. - Upload your video using one or more of the following options:
- Drag & Drop - Simply drag & drop your video file to the upload icon in the center of the screen.
- Click on 'Browse' - This will open a finder/explorer window that will allow you to select one or more videos manually.
Note: These upload options are available under the 'VIDEO UPLOAD' tab. - 'Enter external source url' - Enter into this field a video file URL address for videos that are stored on external CDNs. Then press enter/return or click on the arrow icon

Note: This upload option is available under the 'EXTERNAL CONTENT' tab.
Note: The upload options field will be available and highlighted in blue only after a Company and Encoding Profile have been defined for the upload.
Note: After a video is selected, it will automatically start to upload to the Portal. When the upload is completed, the video will undergo an additional encoding process to create different video renditions. Both processes include a progress bar indication displayed at the bottom of the upload page by each video.
- Go to each video and click on 'Add metadata' to add additional information about the video. The selected video edit page will open in a new browser tab, displaying the 'BASIC INFORMATION' tab.
- Optional: Go back to the upload page to add short additional information to your video to a simplified metadata area that will appear after you click on 'Add metadata'. Then proceed to step 16.
- Enter a title for your video in the 'VIDEO TITLE' field. This will be the name of the video that will be displayed within the Portal and on "Click to Play" players.
- Go to 'Long' field under the 'DESCRIPTION' tab and enter a description for your video. This description is displayed in the Video Library page and is used to help editors find relevant videos for their posts according to textual search.
- Under the 'IAB CATEGORY' field, click on 'Add Category' and select a relevant IAB category vertical that will apply to this video.
Note: For further details, please see How to Add an IAB Category to Your Video. - Click on the 'VIDEO PROJECTION TYPE' and select the required projection rendering method according to the following options:
- 360fly - Select this projection type for a video shot with a 360fly camera.
- Equirectangular - Select this projection type for a footage taken with an equirectangular 360 camera.
- Optional: Apply any additional optional fields according to the following field and description tables: Video edit page optional fields.
- Optional: Click on 'SAVE & NEXT' to save your video and switch to the next video edit page.
- Click on 'SAVE'. Your video is saved and the 'BASIC INFORMATION' tab of the video details page is displayed.
Note: For the 'Save' button to be available, you must enter both a 'Title' and an 'IAB Category'.
Note: When the encoding process is completed, a preview of your video will be displayed in the details page. In addition, the 'Upload State' of the video will change automatically to 'Ready' allowing the video to be syndicated according to the assigned Seller Rule.
Video Edit Page Optional Fields
The following tables describe all the available metadata optional fields although not all might be visible under your company/user settings. Each table describes the fields available under each tab in the video edit page.

DESCRIPTION - SHORT | Allows to add short description for your video. This will be available for API users. |
TRANSCRIPT |
Allows you to add a transcript file that will be associated with your video. Note: The transcript file makes it easy for editors to search and find your video according to its spoken context. For example, a user can type a catch phrase as a search query to find a popular video containing this phrase. |
LANGUAGE | Allows you to select a language to be set as the spoken language in this video. |
SUBTITLES | Allows you to upload or link subtitles to your video. The subtitle language selector field allows users to find your video according to it's supported language. Note: For more information, please see How to Add a Subtitle File/URL to the Video Upload. |
SELLER RULE | By default, all your videos are automatically assigned to your company's default seller rule that controls how your video is syndicated to other companies and users in the Portal. Selecting this field allows you to set a different seller rule to define which companies can or can not access your video. |
THUMBNAILS | When uploading a video, the platform will automatically generate a high quality thumbnail for your video. This field allows you to upload a custom thumbnail instead if you want a different image to be placed on your video. Note: For further details, please see How to upload a custom thumbnail to your video. |

AVAILABILITY DATE | Allows you to define a time-frame, in which the uploaded video will be available for syndication. You may select the time zone and then define a required 'Start' and 'End' date (or select 'No end date'). Note: The video will not be available for syndication to publishers before the 'Start date' or after the 'End date'. |
CLICK URL | Allows you to define a website address to which your viewers will be redirected to when clicking on the video. |
CLICK-THROUGH DELAY | Allows you to add a numeric value in seconds that will delay the activation of the click URL. |
OVERLAY URL | Allows you to add custom overlay URL, which will be displayed in the video. |
LOGO |
Allows you to upload a watermark brand logo that will be displayed as an overlay on top of the video. The logo will also be displayed in the Video details page. Note: You can add different logos to each video. |

AUTHOR | Allows you to add name/s of the video's author/s. |
CUSTOM ATTRIBUTES | Enter any custom attributes (parameters and values) using the 'Name' and 'Value' fields. You can then use these attributes to search for the video. |
TOPICS | Allows you to add additional metadata fields that are relevant for your video, by entering any topic or tag name in the 'Name' field and then entering values for this topic. The topics will then be added into the platform search engine for future searching. |
CONCEPTS | Allows you to add multiple concepts as free text. |
TAXONOMY | Allows you to assign custom taxonomy attributes to your video. |
